Rules
Carp Somnium wants the most memorable experience for its guests, the venue is for your enjoyment and pleasure. Please help us maintain this by respecting the lake, the fish, its facilities and the people that work there. Your attention to these rules below is much appreciated. FISH CARE
- Carp care is paramount at Carp Somnium
- All nets, slings and landing mats are provided by Carp Somnium. A small security deposit will be required
- Retaining and sacking of fish is not allowed
- All carp over 50lb to remain in the water for photos
- All anglers must have their own carp care kit
- All anglers must have waders to ensure the fish are lifted out of and returned correctly to the water
- Quick links must be undone or hook length cut before fish leaves the water,do not carry rod and fish in the landing net at the same time
RIGS AND BAIT RULES
- No lead core or lead core leaders
- All leads must be able to come free or be ejected, tail rubbers must not to be pushed all the way on and inline leads must be able to come free
- No maggots, worms or nuts allowed
- Strictly pellet and particle mix must be bought from the fishery only
- Small amount of micro pellet allowed for solid bags or stick mix only
- No freezers on site
- All spombs / spods must have a float
- Micro barbed hooks only
- Maximum of 3 rods per angler
- No braided mainline
- Minimum 18lb breaking strain line. No pulling for breaks
GENERAL RULES
- All vehicles must remain in the car park when on site. Strictly no driving around the lake
- Gates open for new anglers at 1pm on Saturdays
- Anglers should be out of their swims by 9.30am and ready to depart by 10.00am
- Make sure all facilities are respected and clean after use
- All swims must be kept clean and left tidy, bins are provided for bottles, and glass. Black sacks are provided for general rubbish
- If smoking on site we expect no cigarettes to be thrown or left anywhere around the fishery
- No fires, loud music or shouting across the lakes
- No dogs permitted
- Unsociable behaviour will not be tolerated
- General maintenance may be carried out when needed
BOAT RULES
- Bait boats are permitted and recommended
- A rowing boat is provided with 2 life jackets. Life jackets must be worn at all times
- The boat can be used as you wish, however no dropping rigs
- The rowing boat must be washed and cleaned at the end of the week
- No H blocks or Pole markers
