The Peninsula
An amazing place to spend a week with two or three pals. There is approximately 20 acres of water fishing from a 320 degree peninsula that extends 150m out into the lake. There are two huge bays behind you which so this swim offers large areas of water to be discovered.
Average depths are 4-10 feet deep. There is an island is at 120m/140yds in front with lots of gravel humps and silty areas, weed beds and several hundred yards of accessible natural margins. Situated on the southern side of the lake this is a sheltered swim but great views due to peninsular location. The swim also features a 2.5m stone internal day shelter for cooking or day use. There is 100sqm of platform to fish from with step down areas each side for landing and photographing fish.
Boat House Point
There are stunning views on this 2/3 person swim which faces West with shade up to lunch time. There is a huge 5x10m platform which is suitable for up to 3 anglers, plus a jetty for your boat. Located in the central area of lake with average depths 7-10 feet with good fishing in close on the right hand side and bay on the left also in close. There is a hard bottom in most areas in this swim plus weed beds on left and right which always holding fish. There’s also hard clay, gravel area out further with silt in the deeper water. We have also found lots of bloodworm beds on the right side towards the entrance of boat house bay.
Wild Swim
Situated on the Western bank, this swim offers a lovely ambush area as the fish love to travel up and down this part of the lake. 40/70yds out is a great area as fish migrate up and down in the mornings and evenings or on a new wind. It’s an area the carp seem to enjoy using. A 5x8m platform awaits your arrival, access is via boat access only which appeals to many as its quiet and undisturbed. Like all the pegs this one has 8-10 acres of water to fish and discover. The bottom in this area is stony with clay deposits and some weed beds seasonally.
Dam Swim
This swim is located 60m from the dam on the West bank. Access is 60m from the entrance lane or by boat. There is a 5x8m platform with an anchor peg system for bivvies or rod pods. This swim receives the South Westerly winds and is settled within a sheltered treeline. There is a small jetty for your boat and rod pod platform if you prefer. Depths up to 20 feet by dam with an average of 7-10 foot. The bottom is mainly clay and gravel with light silt deposits.
Beach Swim
Situated in the North East corner of the lake with access by car or 50m by boat from the boat house. This swim receives the Westerly/South Westerly winds so great on a low pressure as the carp love to follow the wind on here. The large bay on the left has a clay bottom with various weed beds. There are always fish showing in this zone with average depths 7-10 foot. There is 5x9m gravel mesh stay dry system and jetty for a boat or rod pods.
